
A 37-year-old man was stabbed and killed by his friend in an altercation in Kibera slums, Nairobi.
Police said Victor Juma was
stabbed in the stomach and bled to death following the confrontation on Sunday night.
Juma is said to have been
involved in a confrontation with his friend in Lindi area for unknown reasons.
The assailant drew a knife,
which he used to stab Juma in the stomach, fatally injuring him.
Nairobi Regional police
commander George Sedah said the assailant escaped the scene soon after the incident.
He said the victim was rushed to
a nearby clinic, where he succumbed to the injuries.
The body was moved to the
mortuary pending autopsy and further investigations.
“We hope to find the suspect for
interrogation and probably face relevant charges,” said Sedah.
Elsewhere in Kakuma, Turkana
County, a South Sudanese juvenile aged 15 was stabbed and killed in an
altercation.
The body of the boy was found
lying in a pool of blood in Kibii area.
Police said the deceased was
stabbed in the back by an assailant who escaped the scene.
The motive of the fatal stabbing
is yet to be established, police said.
The body was moved to a local
mortuary pending autopsy and other procedures.
In Kulamawe area, Isiolo County,
the body of a man was found near a church compound after a suspected murder.
Police said the deceased
Philemon Mureithi, 35 had two stab wounds in the stomach and back, which had
been inflicted by unknown people.
There were no bloodstains at the
scene, and it was suspected that the deceased was murdered somewhere else and
the body was dumped there. The body was moved to Isiolo County Hospital
mortuary, awaiting postmortem.
Police said no arrest had been
made over the incident and they are yet to establish the motive of the same.
Police say murder cases have
been on the rise in the country, with up to eight cases being reported daily.
Some of the cases remain unsolved, police say, adding they are making efforts to address them.
