President William Ruto on Wednesday launched several projects in Meru and Kirinyaga counties during his tour of Mt Kenya region.
The President, accompanied by the Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, launched the projects as part of his second day of his visit to the Mountain.
In Kirinyaga, the President commissioned the Artificial Insemination Centre, Mwea.

Ruto said the artificial insemination for goats the government has introduced will ensure the county improves animal breeds and enhances productivity.
This, he said, will further government’s food security agenda and boost farmers’ earnings.

In Igembe, the President commissioned the Nkuene Electricity Sub-Station, South Imenti, Meru county.
Ruto said more than 20,000 households will benefit from over 375 electricity projects the government is implementing in Buuri, Central Imenti, Igembe Central, Igembe North, Igembe South, North Imenti, Tigania East and Tigania West constituencies.

Ruto said electricity is no longer a luxury but a necessity for every Kenyan.
The President said the government has made electricity reliable and affordable, connecting more households to power to spur entrepreneurship and economic transformation.
