Photos of the week: Ruto faces the mountain
Here are the photos that summed up this week.
Ruto had invited Kiambu Woman Representative Anne Wamuratha to speak.
In Summary
President William Ruto on Saturday told off some of the Githunguri residents heckling a leader addressing them.
The President was on the fifth day of his development tour in Mt Kenya region, where he visited Nyeri and Kiambu counties.
However, when he invited Kiambu Woman Representative Anne Wamuratha, some of the attendees at the rally started heckling while she was making her speech.
The heckling became too much, forcing Wamurathe to hurry up her speech.
Shortly after she finished her speech, the President told off those who were heckling, saying it was not a good show.
The President questioned where the residents had learnt the act of shouting at leaders when addressing them.
"Sasa nyinyi, nani aliwafunza kupigia watu makelele? Basi makelele sasa itoshe hapo," the President said.
(So now, who taught you how to heckle people? The noise should end there).
This is not the first time leaders have been heckled in the presence of the President.
During the Mt Kenya tour, some of the leaders were forced to face hostile crowds as residents turned into shouting to stop them from speaking.
On Tuesday, Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichungw'ah faced a tough time while addressing a crowd of people that had turned up for Ruto's tour in Ol Kalou, Nyandarua county.
It all started when the MP was ushered to speak immediately after ICT CS William Kabogo had addressed the crowd.
As he took his position at the top of his vehicle, the crowd turned hostile to Ichung'wah as he attempted to sell the government agenda.
Amidst the chants from the crowd, the MP was heard telling off the hecklers, saying, “no one sells me fear" in Kikuyu dialect. The irate rally attendees, however, could not hear of it.
Despite his efforts to calm the situation down, the rally attendees refused to listen to his speech, making it impossible for him to continue.
Ichungwah is among a group of leaders accompanying President Ruto after he embarked on a Mount Kenya tour to inspect ongoing projects in the region.
