President William Ruto speaks during the Easter Sunday Service at Ntulele, Narok county on April 20, 2025/PCS
President William Ruto has reprimanded leaders who are
opposed to his relationship with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Ruto said his unity with Raila is for the good of the
country and not for any individual.
“Kenya Kwanza has not united with some parties from Azimio
for the gains of individuals but for the good of the country,” he explained.
The President regretted that some leaders see the unity
between Kenya Kwanza and ODM as a betrayal of Kenyans at large.
Addressing the faithful during Easter Sunday service at Ntulele,
Narok County, the President stated that the Bible is clear that nothing cannot
be achieved when people are united.
“We must be united as a country because there is strength in
unity. Those who are not God-fearing are saying unity is betrayal; how shameful,
how tragic,” he said.
“The Bible says there is nothing impossible for those who are
united. The devil has a different message against unity in our nation.”
Ruto said leaders talking about betrayal should read the
Holy Scripture.
“I am happy and I want to profess that Kenya is going to
continue to be a God-fearing nation. Those talking about betrayal, we want to
tell them to read the Bible, which says, Where there is unity, God commands a
blessing,” he added.
The President said he is committed to uniting the country
with the help of Raila.
“We are working hard to unite the people of Kenya and that is
why I am happy that my friend Raila Odinga and our parties are working together
because in there, God will truly bless our nation,” he added.
“We are unapologetic, unashamed about uniting the people because
we know we can go far, we can achieve more.”
Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tutu, Kajiado Governor
Joseph ole Lenku and his Narok counterpart Patrick ole Ntutu, and Narok Senator
Ledama Olekina were present during the service.
On April 17, 2025, Ruto appealed to the church to help him
unite the country in line with his effort to broaden the government.
"I need help from the church to unite this country.
Just like God helped us to restore peace in the AIPCA, I believe the same God
will help us have peace and unity in Kenya," he said.
The president added, "I urge you to pray that Kenyans
embrace peace and unity so that we focus on development."
Ruto said he is in dire need of prayers to succeed in unifying the nation
