President William Ruto on Tuesday chaired a cabinet meeting at State House, Nairobi.
The cabinet meeting marked the first attendance for Gender CS Hanna Cheptumo and her Public Service counterpart, Geoffrey Ruku.
Discussions were held surrounding the ongoing diplomatic efforts and consular mission by Kenya to provide peaceful conflict mediation in Sudan.
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki was present during the meeting.
"As the conflict remains unresolved, it will continue to concern the region and the world at large, and Kenya will not remain passive. Kenya, therefore, urges key players in the conflict to find a pathway to peaceful resolution and end the bloodletting," a statement read by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"Indeed, the international community has a duty under the UN Charter to protect human life, property and help silence the guns."
