
The Kenya Red Cross is supporting emergency response efforts following a road traffic incident involving a school bus carrying 56 learners and four teachers along the Kabarnet–Marigat Road.
In a statement on Friday evening, the humanitarian organisation said the crash occurred earlier in the day, prompting an emergency response to assist those affected.
The Kenya Red Cross said all the learners and teachers involved in the incident were evacuated to Baringo County Referral Hospital.
According to the organisation, those injured are receiving medical care as well as psychosocial first aid.
"Kenya Red Cross is supporting response efforts following a road traffic incident involving a school bus carrying 56 learners and four teachers along the Kabarnet–Marigat Road this evening," the organisation said.
It added that "the affected learners and teachers were evacuated to Baringo County Referral Hospital, where they are receiving medical care and psychosocial first aid."
The Kenya Red Cross said it continues to monitor the situation.
