At a recent funeral, one of her chief campaigners said, "It is only Raila Odinga who must be elected on an ODM ticket". The rest of the aspirants, he said, can be elected on any ticket. Stunned mourners who included a first-time female legislator from the region reacted with fury, noting the gubernatorial aspirant who has been treating voters to theatrics was going all out to confuse them. The aspirant has lately been involved in controversial cultural undertakings associated with Luo leadership and has been roundly condemned by culture enthusiasts. It's whispered her competitors have the confidence of ODM bigwigs and strategic party organs, making her jittery.

Is the board at a government agency about to secretly renew the term of the current CEO for a further three years? There are reports the chairman of the board is quietly working with the CEO to lobby the board to confirm him for a term extension. Unfortunately, the board is keen to bypass the law that requires that such a position be filled competitively. Word has it that the board is about to reward the CEO for his support in their windfall of unmerited allowances last year. However, a perennial litigant is already on the sidelines and will strike with court papers to stop the process in the coming days.
