CORRIDORS OF POWER

JUST WHY IS a loud opposition MP, who likes to comment on everything, reportedly overexcited about the broad-based government formed by President William Ruto? The controversial lawmaker does not let a day pass without heaping praise on the administration and displaying sycophancy to top politicos he considers heroes. A SECTION OF lawmakers from a certain region are at a crossroads. They have been closely monitoring the court proceedings on Rigathi Gachagua’s impeachment cases, hoping to get political direction one way or the other. Since they voted for the impeachment motion, they are yet to make moves either to reconcile with Gachagua and join his camp given the hostile ground or join nominee DP Kithure Kindiki. On Tuesday, they were overheard saying the court battle seemed to be nearing an end and they would reach a decision to chart their political life.

The man has told people near him he will start his own public image rehabilitation campaign, and possibly work his way back to the new power centre in the region to help him survive.
