A SENATOR HAS been exposed in a WhatsApp group chat boasting about having the backing of a top government official to ensure the governor faces a rough tenure and loses in 2027. In the leaked chat, the senator disparaged MCAs, labelling them as “fools” for failing to impeach the governor. The lawmaker pushed the MCAs to oust the governor and pave the way for the deputy governor, who is his close ally, to take over. In one of the messages, the senator writes to an area MP, saying the deputy governor could have helped them if he were in power.
