TOP MANAGERS AT an authority with a link to climate
change are reportedly crying foul after the agency delayed paying them
allowances for a training session they attended. A little bird whispered to
Corridors of Power that the fellows allegedly believe a top official in the
ministry is using their money, running into millions of shillings, for private
business. They believe the fellow in question has deposited the millions in a
money market fund. They want the concerned PS and CS to intervene and compel
the agency to pay the outstanding dues.

A POLITICIAN ANTICIPATING an appointment to a plum
role in government is reportedly running out of patience. The man was allegedly
overheard complaining he postponed travel to a foreign country five times after
he was promised the appointment was on the way. The problem, according to those
he spoke with, is the appointing authority is the only one who knows when the
list of nominees will be out. The man has left his colleagues wondering why
he’s in a rush to exit his current post, which is hailed as heavily rewarding.

STILL ON THE impending jobs, some officers
anticipating being axed in the reshuffle have allegedly confessed they are
happy the changes are coming at a time when they have made the budget for the
next financial year. They also purportedly said they are happy they are not
under probe and therefore will not be sacked. One of the officers reportedly
said he was ready to leave his fancy office anytime he would be asked and he’d
have more time for his private businesses. Insiders, however, say the man is
simply managing his anxiety with the pronouncements.

IS A STATE agency employing all means available to
manage a negative perception that was developing around an entity it presides
over? Well, Corridors of Power is apprised the agency has supposedly been
engaging individuals it believes would be instrumental in driving the
much-needed change. There are, however, quarters that are uncomfortable with
the initiative saying it is against established ideals and stands to shield the
entity from accountability. A mole intimated that while a recent discussion
focused on some sleaze at one of the businesses the agency supervises, there
could be more to it than meets the eye.
