More than 360,000 videos were removed from TikTok in Kenya in the three months of April, May and June alone (Quarter 2) for violating community guidelines, the social media platform has said.

This is part of the efforts by TikTok to enforce its community guidelines across Kenya.

TikTok, in its Q2 2024 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report released on Wednesday, said a total of 60,465 were banned for violating TikTok's community guidelines.

Globally, the social media platform said it removed over 178 million videos in June 2024 alone, with 144 million of those removed through automation.

The report also disclosed that 60,465 accounts were banned during this period, with 57,262 accounts suspected to belong to users under the age of 13.

These enforcement actions underline TikTok's strict age guidelines and dedication to maintaining a secure environment for its diverse user base.
