A report by Old Mutual Financial Services Monitor (2024) reveals that 75 per cent of respondents lack confidence in the country’s economy, citing major financial struggles.
The key reasons for this pessimism include the high cost of living, increased taxation, unemployment, and difficulties in doing business.Only 10 per cent of people strongly or slightly agree that the economy has improved, while 15 per cent remain neutral.
The majority believe that higher living costs, reduced job opportunities, and low business profitability are making it difficult for individuals and enterprises to thrive.
