A 2025 Edelman Trust Barometer: Kenya Report reveals that NGOs (69 per cent) and businesses (68  per cent) are the most trusted institutions among Kenyans, followed by the media (63 per cent).

However, trust in the government remains low at 37 per cent.

The findings also highlight a trust gap based on income levels, with low-income earners expressing less trust compared to high-income earners.

Additionally, 80 per cent of Kenyans believe government leaders intentionally mislead the public, contributing to the declining trust in public institutions.
