Internal shifts in the political landscape ahead of the 2027 election have placed Deputy President Kithure Kindiki as the runaway favorite to be President William Ruto’s deputy.
According to the latest poll by TIFA Research, Kindiki has emerged as the clear front-runner, securing a commanding 59 per cent of the preferred choice for the Deputy President position.
This significant lead places him far ahead of any other potential contenders in the eyes of the public.
While Kindiki holds the majority, Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga follows in a distant second place with 12 per cent support. The gap between the top two candidates highlights a consolidated preference for Kindiki’s presence on the 2027 ticket.
Further down the list, the field remains crowded but narrowly supported. Both Oburu Odinga and Hassan Joho sit at three per cent each, failing to break into the double-digit territory occupied by Wanga and Kindiki.
The data also shows minimal traction for seasoned politicians Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula.
Mudavadi currently holds two per cent of the preference, while Wetangula trails at one per cent. These figures suggest a definitive consensus among those polled, leaning heavily towards Kindiki as the most viable partner for President Ruto in the upcoming general election.
As the 2027 race begins to take shape, Kindiki’s nearly 60 per cent approval rating sets a high bar for any other hopefuls seeking to influence the presidency's future lineup.
