Bean prices remained relatively stable across select East African countries between May and June 2026, according to the latest Food Security Monitor by the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA).
Kenya continued to record the highest prices, with yellow beans averaging $1,190 per metric ton in May before easing slightly to $1,152 in June.
Red beans in Kenya also declined from $966 to $932 per metric ton over the same period.
Uganda posted the biggest month-on-month change, with average bean prices rising from $687 in May to $826 in June.
Tanzania's prices remained virtually unchanged, edging up from $770 to $771, while Rwanda recorded a modest decline from $754 to $731 per metric ton.
The figures, based on prices per 1,000 kilograms, highlight varying market trends across the region.
While Kenya's prices remain the highest despite slight declines, Uganda experienced the sharpest increase, reflecting differing supply, demand and market conditions across East Africa.
