Abubakar Abdullahi, the immediate former TV47 Chief Executive Officer has resigned.

In a statement sent to his colleagues, Abubakar acknowledged the huge steps of growth witnessed in the company.

"When I took over the leadership of the company I made a commitment that we will fight for our spot in Kenya’s competitive media landscape. I am proud that we have made tremendous progress together,” the statement reads.

Abubakar served as the chief editor just before he was appointed CEO of the Parklands-based TV station.

The ex-boss did not cite his reasons for leaving the station he has worked at for 4 years.

"I am also proud of the caring community we became. However, I have for personal reasons decided to leave the company and pursue other interest,” he said.

TV47 is owned by Cape Media Limited, an affiliate of Mount Kenya University.

It was launched in 2019 and its main broadcast languages are English and Kiswahili.

Recently the team also launched Radio47 which is the latest entrant into the media sector.
