Police recover one illegal firearm in Tiaty, Baringo

Police on Monday afternoon recovered an illegal firearm in Tiaty East Sub-county, Baringo County. 

Police said they recorded another success on Monday after recovering an illegal G-3 rifle at Karau Village, Makutano Location in Baringo County. 

The operation is dubbed 'Operation Maliza Uhalifu North Rift'.

Police noted that last Sunday, the multi-agency team also recovered an illegal AK-47 rifle at Moruanze Village, Paka Location, Tiaty East Sub-County.

"As a security organ, NPS remains committed to the multi-agency security operation, with the aim of ensuring that normalcy returns in the North Rift," police said. 

As police conducted security operations in Moruanze Village, they noted that the local elders were impactful as they supported the police.

"We laud the local peace elders, leaders, and the public at large for their continued support which has so far led to the recovery of several firearms in the ongoing Operation Maliza Uhalifu North Rift," police said.
