Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has trashed reports of division among Western leaders as reported in one of the dailies ahead of President William Ruto's tour of the county starting  August 27.

Speaking in his Kimilili home on Wednesday, Lusaka confirmed that the President will visit the Bungoma region to launch projects.

“We are expecting the head of state to tour the Western region particularly Bungoma where he will launch projects,” Lusaka said.

On Sunday, National Assembly speaker Moses Wetang’ula hosted the Western leaders in a lengthy talk that involved all leaders who discussed the President’s tour.

“I’m the County boss and at the center of all plans concerning the President’s visit. I have not heard any leader complain about the President’s tour. Those claiming in the media that we are divided must be having a problem,” he said.

The county boss noted that the President will land in Bungoma on Sunday where he will attend interdenominational prayers at Bungoma airstrip.

Later, the Head of State will proceed to launch the County Assembly building and the 300-bed capacity maternity wing at Bungoma County Referral Hospital.

However, Lusaka pointed out that the main reason for the President’s visit to Bungoma is to give thanks to the people of Bungoma for overwhelmingly voting for him.

“People should not create propaganda on the President’s visit to Bungoma, this is just a way of thanking the people of Bungoma and launching projects,” Lusaka said.

In addition, Lusaka affirmed that the President will launch the Construction of an aggregated industrial park at Sang’alo.

He said both the County and National government have contributed an equal amount of the total Sh500 million towards the construction of the industrial park.

Lusaka also stated that the President will also launch Bungoma North TTI in Tongaren Constituency adding that on Monday the President will tour the ailing Nzoia sugar company to give a solution.

“Let us not sit back and listen to propaganda. Let all the farmers and workers of Nzoia come to the factory and listen to what the President will tell us,” Lusaka said.

The Ford Kenya governor also noted that several roads in Bungoma County are earmarked for tarmacking.
