Primary school candidates who are scheduled to start their end year assessment tests next week have been prayed for by Beyond Boundaries Ministries Evangelist Lucy wa Ngunjiri.

The evangelist sent a message of goodwill to the more than 1.3 million Grade 6 candidates who start their Kenya Primary School Assessment (KPSEA) on Monday.

She spoke to pupils at City Primary School in Nairobi’s Ngara on Thursday, gave them a word of encouragement and afterwards prayed together with the children.

“You have to change your mindsets and everything else will fall into place,” she told the learners.

“This is a special encouragement to all the Grade 6 pupils in every part of Kenya as you start your exams. There is a God who is able to change everything for you…changing your story to a better story. He has the power to change the marks that you had and to change your future,” Evangelist Ngunjiri said.

KPSEA is in its third year replacing the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) following education reforms and the implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum that's phasing out the 8-4-4 system.

The last batch of Std 8 students under the old system sat their KCPE exams last year.

The KPSEA assessment is a crucial part of the CBC and marks the completion of Grade 6 education for students nationwide.

The assessment provides feedback on students' performance in various subjects, helping educators identify areas for improvement and ensuring that the education system nurtures a broad range of skills.

Mathematics and English papers will be done on Monday, Kiswahili, Integrated Science and Sign Language tests on Tuesday while Creative Arts and Social Studies assessment will mark the end of KPSEA on Wednesday.

KNEC announced that candidates who commit irregularities in any paper will have their results for the whole subject cancelled.

President William Ruto extended his best wishes to the candidates sitting the national KPSEA and KCSE exams.

The President assured candidates that the government has implemented extensive security measures to guarantee the smooth administration of the exams.

He affirmed that the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Interior have coordinated efforts to provide invigilators, supervisors, and security personnel at all exam centres.
