President William Ruto has said that he needs Deputy President Kithure Kindiki to work with him.

In his remarks after Kindiki took oath of office, Ruto said he needs Kindiki’s intelligence to help the Cabinet profile the things they are doing.

He noted that he has become a lonely voice in the country’s executive and needs the former Interior CS to help him in talking about state projects.

The President insisted that Kindiki is intelligent and that he has confidence in him.

He added that he knows Kindiki can help improve areas where he has missed previously in the last two years he has been in office.

“I need your intellect to help me and to help members of our cabinet to profile the things we are doing, to speak to the things that we are doing, I have almost become a lonely voice in the executive, especially in the presidency, speaking about our projects, speaking about our programs, elaborating on what we are doing.

“You are eloquent, my brother. You are intelligent, my brother, I am confident that you will do that, which I have missed for the last two years,” Ruto said on Friday.

Ruto challenged his new deputy to ensure the government delivers on the promises it made to Kenyans.

He reiterated the commitment of the Kenya Kwanza government to transform the country.

He said even though there might have been challenges in the past, especially with the Universal Health Coverage agenda, he has a team that will deliver on the promises made, including his new deputy.

“Our Universal Health Coverage is underway, with a bit of challenge initially but now we are moving, and I want to tell the people of Kenya, that we are going to transform this nation, and we have the team. Professor, welcome to the team that is going to transform Kenya into a great nation that is going to make every Kenyan proud,” Ruto said.
