Treasury CS John Mbadi has appointed three new members to the Local Authorities Provident Fund (LAP FUND) board.

The new appointees are Millicent Nyaboke, Samuel Kariuki Maina, and Beatrice Kones. The three will serve for 3 years, effective November 8, 2024.

The appointment was made by Treasury Cabinet Secretary Mbadi on Friday.

"In exercise of the powers conferred by section 5 (1) (a) of the Local Authorities Provident Fund Act, as read together with section 51 (1) of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, the Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning appoints— Samwel Kariuki Maina, Beatrice Kones, Millicent Nyaboke, to be members of the Board of the Local Authorities Provident Fund, for three (3) years, with effect from the 8th November 2024," the Gazette Notice reads in part.

LAP FUND is regulated by the Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA), and it is one of the oldest retirement benefits schemes in Kenya and has over 70,000 members. LAPFUND is a State Corporation established in 1960 by an Act of Parliament.
