President William Ruto is today expected to address the nation at 3 pm.
Confirming the address, Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula said it will be held at the Parliament.
“You should as members be advised by the Office of the Clerk on the arrangements that have been put in place, there will be a little inconvenience,” he said.
The State of the Nation address is an obligation of the Constitution that requires Ruto to update Parliament on three key issues, among them national security.
The President is also obligated to appraise the legislature on all the measures taken by his administration and the progress achieved in the realisation of the national values.
Article 132 of the Constitution requires the President to also once annually update the bicameral house on measures and progress made in fulfilling the international obligations of the republic.

Court to give direction in case against ex-Lamu Senator Anuar Loitiptip
Former Lamu Senator Anuar Loitiptip will be back in court today for the mention of a case in which he was charged with Sh6 million motor vehicle fraud.
The former lawmaker was accused of falsely obtaining the money from one Samson Malonza pretending he could sell him a Toyota V8 car.
The charge sheet showed the offence was committed on August 3, 2022.
The prosecution held that Anuar made a motor vehicle registration certificate purporting it to be a genuine certificate issued by the National Transport and Safety Authority without lawful authority.
Anuar also faced a second count of fraudulently uttering to Samson Malonza a forged motor vehicle certificate for motor vehicle registration number KDA 005C on the same date.
He is alleged to have committed the offence on August 3, 2022, in Kileleshwa area of Nairobi.
Anuar denied the charges before a Nairobi magistrate court and was released on Sh1 million bond with an alternative cash bail of Sh700000.
