The forum kicked off on Wednesday and aims to address the persistent threat posed by small arms and light weapons, which undermine peace and security across the region.
Speaking at the opening, PS Interior and National Administration Raymond Omollo, stressed the importance of collaboration to tackle the issue.
“Kenya believes that by strengthening collective efforts, we can make significant strides in reducing the availability of illicit arms and mitigating their devastating impact,” he said.
Omollo also asked the concerned parties to promote responsible transfers of small arms and light weapons to address this growing threat effectively.
“Kenya committed to working closely with all member states and relevant partners to enhance coordination and bolster our collective efforts to improve information sharing and respond to the illicit circulation of small arms and light weapons,” he said.
KeNHA to showcase the transformation of road infrastructure
The Kenya National Highways Authority (Kenha) is expected to “tell a story through a picture” on the transformative journey of road infrastructure in the country.
In an event coined the National Photo Festival hosted at the National Museum in Nairobi, Kenha will show the photos covering all presidential tenures and their role in the development.
“Through this platform, the Authority is celebrating the art of photography while highlighting the pivotal role our roads play in connecting people, fostering trade, and driving Kenya’s development,” Kenha said.

Directions to be issued in Sh209m fake fertilizer scandal
An Anticorruption court will today issue directions in a case in which four people are facing fraud charges in the Sh209 million fertilizer scandal.
The matter is listed before Milani Magistrate Celesa Okore.
The accused persons were charged in May 2024, and released on different bail terms after denying the charges.
The charge sheet presented in court stated that NCPB Managing Director Joseph Kimote and his co-accused conspired to defraud Kenyan farmers by selling a total of 139,688 bags of 25 kilos each of soil amendment and conditioner valued at Sh209.5 million.
It is alleged that they presented the fertiliser as
genuine.The offence was allegedly committed between March 17, 2022, and March 8,
2024, at an unknown place in the country.
