President William Ruto on Tuesday evening met with leaders from faith-based organisations at State House, Nairobi, where discussions centered on universal health coverage.
The organisations are involved in running health facilities and have been working in partnership with the government in the delivery of healthcare across the country.
"Their contribution in the provision of services has significantly strengthened Kenya's health system and boosted citizens' well-being," Ruto said in a statement.
The President said they discussed the ongoing enhancement of health reforms in our country.
Those present included Maseno North Anglican Church Bishop Charles Asilutwa, Africa Gospel Church Bishop Robert Lang'at and Machakos Catholic Bishop Norman King'oo Wambua.
Others were Africa Inland Church Presiding Bishop Abraham Mulwa, Methodist Church Presiding Bishop Isaiah Deye and PCEA Moderator Thegu Mutahi.
The President later hosted Muslim leaders for Iftar at State House.

Iftar is the first meal to break the month-long Ramadan fast.
"I urged Muslim clerics, and all religious leaders, to shepherd God’s flock with humility," Ruto said.
"We will keep supporting religious institutions, including mosques and churches, as part of celebrating the freedom of worship in our country," the President added.
Present during the Iftar were Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula and Environement CS Aden Duale among other leaders.
