Many motorists in Nairobi on Friday night found it hard to navigate their way home as heavy flooding rendered many roads impassable following heavy rains.
Images and video shared online showed some vehicles stuck and almost submerged in flood waters.
"I'm stuck at Parklands and live along Thika Road. Double tragedy. Hii ni kama leo nitalala kwa bar nikunywe fanta madiaba (It looks like I will transnight in a bar taking soda)," lamented a motorist.
A separate video shot in the Kilimani area and shared on X showed heavily flooded roads, with one user suggesting rather cheeckily that it should be diverted to State House."
Several other comments from Kenyans in different locations of the city painted a sorry state of affairs, with many blaming the poor drainage system.
