President William Ruto has insisted that the church and the government must work together for the greater good of the people of Kenya.

Speaking during an interdenominational church service at Kimana primary school grounds in Kajiado County on Sunday, Ruto said this must also include leaders from across the political divide.

He went on to say that Kenya will not grow through competing interests, especially when it is to divide the people of Kenya.

The President noted all Kenyans must be united from the church, communities, and also the political leadership for the country to develop.

“There's no competition between the church and others or between the state and the church. My fellow Kenyans, Kenya will not grow on competition to divide the people.

“We have to be united; we have to work together. The church and the state must work together, leaders from all communities must work together; leaders from different political formations must work together for the greater good of the country we all love, the country called Kenya. Let's all unite, fighting, hatred, and competition will not help us,” Ruto said.

He promised that no Kenyan will be left behind regardless of their religion, their communities, or their political affiliation.

Ruto insisted that he will ensure the country is built collectively and by all Kenyans.

“I want to promise the people of Kenya that no religion is going to be left behind, not community is going to be left behind, no region or people, regardless of political persuasion, will be left behind; we are going to build this nation together.”

The Head of State further noted that he has every intention to fulfil all the promises he has made to Kenyans, including transforming the country.

“I have every intention to make sure that I fulfil all the commitments I made to the people of Kenya for the transformation of our nation.”
