
Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru on Wednesday joined President William Ruto’s delegation to Luanda, Angola.
The team was there to meet with President João Lourenço.
Among the discussions held were the strengthening of Kenya-Angola relations and the resumption of Kenya Airways flights to Luanda and the visa waiver for Kenyans.
Following the discussions, Ruto announced that the flights will resume in March 2025.
“Coupled with the reciprocal waiver of visa requirements for Kenyans, this will strengthen bilateral ties and expand opportunities for enhanced cooperation and mutual benefits,” he added.

Waiguru was also among the leaders who accompanied Ruto to Ghana for the inauguration of President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday.
Mahama was sworn in alongside the country’s first ever woman Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Oppku-Agyemang.
Waiguru noted that the
historic moment is a true reflection of progress in African leadership and the
empowerment of women across our continent.
