The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced temporary traffic disruption at the Haile Selassie roundabout on Uhuru Highway.
The disruption will start on January 16, to February 20, 2025.
“This traffic disruption is due to scheduled road works for construction of a pedestrian underpass at the section which will commence from Thursday, January 16, 2025, to Thursday, February 20, 2025,” KeNHA said.
KeNHA said the same will be caused by scheduled road works for the construction of a pedestrian underpass at the section, which will begin on Thursday.
The authority advised motorists to follow the proposed traffic management plan and cooperate with police and traffic marshals on site to ensure smooth movement.
Kenha had in November 2024 announced traffic disruption in the same area, from November 28, 2024, to January 27, 2025.
The Authority said this is due to scheduled
road works for the construction of a pedestrian underpass at the section.
The closure was to facilitate the rehabilitation of a weighbridge and pavements along the road.
“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to inform the public that the section of Nairobi Southern Bypass from Ole Sereni Interchange to Ngong Road Interchange has been opened to traffic today,” the authority said.
“The Authority appreciates your patience during the temporary closure for essential bridge and pavement repairs.”
KeNHA further urged motorists to be cautious when using the road for their wellbeing and that of other road users.
“Motorists are advised to observe road signs and exercise caution for their safety and that of other road users. Don't speed to impress, arrive to embrace.”
The section had been closed from Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at 8:00 pm to Sunday, January 5, 2025,at midnight.
The closure affected the section on both sides of the road from the Ole Sereni Interchange to the Ngong Road Interchange.
