National Assembly Minority Leader Junet Mohamed has advised holders of elective positions to consider it God's work should they find themselves jobless through impeachment.

The Suna East MP said if the old maxim that leaders are chosen by God is anything to go by, it should pass without question that the same Supreme being can remove one from a leadership position through varied ways.

"You know the other time when we were impeaching the Deputy President, someone told me that he was asked 'why don't you resign now that Members of Parliament have lost faith in you?" Junet said.

He said a man of God told the besieged DP that he was put there by God and would only be removed by Him.

"No!" Junet differed with the analogy. "God spoke through Members of Parliament and they removed him," he said.

The legislator said God speaks in many ways, including through MPs, stressing that "God can remove you in many ways".

"Impeachment comes from God. By the time 300 Members of Parliament agree on something, it's the hand of God, it's the voice of God," he stressed.

Junet was speaking on Thursday during debate on the approval motion of three Cabinet Sectretary nominees: Mutahi Kagwe (Agriculture); Lee Kinyanjui (Trade and Industry) and William Kabogo (ICT and Digital Economy).

In a general message, the MP said if any government appointee ever got to a point where they felt government policies were no longer in tandem with their individual ideologies, the best and most honourabel thing to do was resign.

"If you no longer believe in what the government is doing and you are a Cabinet Secretary, just resign. You are not welded in government, just leave," he said.

"Don't wait for God to come to your house to talk to you. If you think you cannot serve the government any more, go do farming, go do other things...because you cannot be a Cabinet secretary who is issuing contrary views to what your government is saying."
