Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Wednesday hosted 20 elected MCAs from Murang'a county, seeking to consolidate the Mount Kenya region.
The ex-DP's meeting came a day after a Nakuru County Assembly MCAs visited him at his Wamunyoro residence in Mathira Constuency.
Gachagua's latest meetings with MCAs are seen as part of his elaborate strategy to ring-fence his Mount Kenya from rival camps ahead of the 2027 polls.
"The voice of the people is at the grassroots. Our Constitution 2010 remains a game-changer in the creation and empowerment of the MCAs, who at all times are the voice of the people,'' Gachagua said.
"In this call, I engaged at my Wamunyoro residence, the incredible MCAs from Murang'a County. They have shared with me what the people of Muranga County are saying in the villages we all belong to.''
The former DP termed the meetings as a forward-thinking mindset that is essential, saying he aims to create sustainable solutions that will benefit generations to come.
Gachagua has lined up more meetings with MCAs from across the 10 Mount Kenya counties in a bid to lock the region ahead of the 2027 elections.
He has also been meeting a section of MPs from the region, scaling up engagements at his now-busy Wamunyoro home.
