Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga won round one of the African Union Commission chairperson election being held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, this Saturday.
None of the candidates, however, secured the required two-thirds majority forcing the election to proceed to up to six rounds of voting.
Raila was facing off with Djibouti’s Foreign Affairs Minister Mahamoud Ali Youssouf and Madagascar’s former Foreign Affairs Minister Richard Randriamandrato.
