Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has urged Kenyans to be careful not to be deceived by leaders who are not offering solutions to their problems.
Kindiki said such people are out of touch with the reality in the country.
The deputy president spoke on Friday, when he met grassroots leaders from Embu, Meru and Tharaka Nithi counties.
He insisted that Kenya is on the right track.
“We are on the right track. Don’t be deceived by people who have no touch with reality, don’t be deceived by people who are not giving solutions to difficulties the people of Kenya are facing,” he said.
Kindiki described such leaders as evil-minded.
He reiterated that even if he was not the DP, he would still support the current administration to deliver for the people of Kenya.
“I want to urge you not to fall into the tricks of evil-minded politicians. An evil-minded politician is the one who wants to spoil for mwananchi when they realise they are not benefiting. Today, even if I was not Deputy President of Kenya, I would support the development of Kenya and this region because that is the right thing to do.”
Kindiki said that Kenya Kwanza has done its best to streamline the country over the last two years and they plan to do more in the remaining time before 2027.
The Deputy President said the President William Ruto-led administration is going to make sure the people have more money in their pockets.
Kindiki said they will turn around businesses and create jobs for all people.
“We have done the best we could in the last two years, and in the next two years we are going to work round the clock to make sure we turn around our agricultural production, livestock production, our businesses, bring more jobs and create more incomes to as many of the people of Kenya as possible," he said.
“The counties of Tharaka Nithi, Embu, and Meru will be at the centre of these plans. Work with your leaders, avoid division. I want us to have a coalition for development.”
