Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has urged retired President Uhuru Kenyatta to join ODM leader Raila Odinga in supporting President William Ruto’s administration.

Passaris said it is important for the former president to support his successor for the country’s best interests.

She spoke during the official launch of Kimutwa market construction in Kalama, Machakos County, on Tuesday.

You are the only living former President of the Republic of Kenya. You have huge investments in this country; you have family in this country; you can sit down with William Ruto, Raila Odinga, and like-minded people to drive this country in the right direction because Kenya belongs to all of us," Passaris said.

“Kenya ikianguka, sisi sote tutaanguka. Tunataka Kenya ifanye kazi vizuri,” Passaris said.

The woman representative refuted claims that since joining Ruto’s administration through a broad-based government’s arrangement, Raila no longer agitates for Kenyans’ fundamental rights.

She said Raila was preoccupied with campaigns for his African Union chairman bid, which he lost and that is why he wasn’t available to speak on matters of public concern, but now back in the country.

“Raila can’t keep quiet; he loves his country and will always speak for its good and citizens’ interests.
