Police are investigating an incident where an elderly foreign national died on Thursday after he was reportedly hit by a motorist as he used the zebra crossing at Adams Arcade on Ngong Road, Nairobi.
Police and witnesses said the driver involved in the accident did not stop.
Police spokesman Michael Muchiri issued a statement and confirmed investigators are on the case.
“Following a road traffic accident that occurred today at Adams Arcade along Ngong Road involving a government vehicle, which resulted in the death of a pedestrian who is a foreign national, the National Police Service (NPS) is now handling the matter, and investigations have commenced,” he said.
The accident caused a traffic snarl up along the stretch of the busy Ngong Road.
The police have urged anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and aid them in the investigation.

The National Police Service further urged motorists, pedestrians, and other road users to exercise extreme caution and adhere to traffic rules to prevent accidents.
