Ruto said the country acknowledges the strong cooperation it enjoys with the United States of America.
"We commit to step up these ties, especially in the areas of trade, investment, food security and stability in the Horn of Africa, for our mutual success. Met President Donald Trump’s Senior Advisor Massad Boulos, State House, Nairobi," Ruto said.

This comes days after Trump picked his daughter Tiffany’s father-in-law Boulos as his Senior Advisor for Africa.
This is an additional role, following his appointment last year to serve as Senior Advisor to the President on Arab and Middle Eastern Affairs.
His appointment was announced on Tuesday by the State Department spokesperson, Tammy Bruce.

“The Department of State is pleased to announce the appointment of Massad Boulos as Senior Advisor for Africa. Senior Advisor Boulos also serves as Senior Advisor to the President on Arab and Middle Eastern Affairs,” she said.
According to the State Department, his immediate task is a visit to East African countries, including the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Rwanda, Kenya, and Uganda, over the situation in Eastern DRC.
