After WhatsApp added emoji reactions to messages this year, it has allowed users to reply to status updates with an emoji.
The function was first introduced to the desktop and is currently being rolled out to users on the mobile app.
Emoji reactions for posts were introduced by Facebook as one of the first Meta services before being adopted by Instagram’s message and status.
Step 1
Go to a person’s status and then swipe up
Step 2
Choose a reaction emoji and press send.
There are only 8 emoji reactions for now.
It is also working on the ability to send voice notes to Statuses and the ability to show status updates right in your chat list.
