AFC Leopards have appointed Kenneth Wendo as their new youth team coach.  Until his appointment, Wendo was part of the Tusker FC Youth team set up, based at Ruaraka.

The CAF 'B' license holder will work alongside Martin 'Hazard' Anganda in sharpening the Ingwe cabs.

The former Kenyan international forward played for AFC Leopards, Mathare United, KCB, Tusker and Wazito FC before hanging his boots in 2018.

Wendo will also double up as Ingwe's assistant to head coach Tomas Trucha, joining another Leopards legend Fred Ambani who has been deputising the Czech.

Leopards' secretary general, Gilbert Andugu, said they brought Wendo on board to help nurture the youngsters and also bring some experience to the senior team technical bench.

“Wendo is our former player and we know his potential. That is why we decided to hire him as the second assistant coach. He fitted the bill of the coach who would juggle between youth and senior teams," said Andugu.

The Mathare Youth Sports Association (MYSA) graduate won the league with Tusker in 2012, before switching to Mathare United.

The 35-year-old crossed over to  Ingwe for a season before switching to defunct Wazito FC. He later hung his boots and embarked on his coaching journey due to niggling injuries.

Meanwhile, leopards who are camping in Mumias for their western tour, are still hunting for a number 10 and a youthful goalkeeper to play as an understudy to Levis Opiyo and Humphrey Katasi, after the departure of Maxwell Mulili.
