Kakamega Homeboyz delivered a stunning performance, culminating in a resounding 5-0 victory over Nairobi City Stars at Dandora Stadium on Friday.
Head coach Francis Barasa said the match not only showcased the team’s prowess on the field but also highlighted the importance of teamwork, discipline and an unyielding spirit.
“The level of spirit displayed during today’s game is impressive. Everyone gave the game their all and we ought to do this more frequently,” Barasa remarked.
“This fantastic result has set the tone for many more victories to come and we are determined to wrap up in a reputable position at the end of the season,” he added.
From the onset, the match bore the hallmarks of a well-orchestrated display of footballing excellence.
Glen Otunga, with a deft touch and sharp instinct, opened the scoring in the ninth minute, setting the tone for what would be an unforgettable evening.
The momentum continued to build as Moses Shummah doubled the advantage just four minutes later before extending the lead in the 50th minute.
The fifth goal, delivered by Henry Omollo in the 80th minute, was the cherry on top of an already extraordinary performance.
