IPF tourney attracts 240 top golfers at Ruiru Club
Golfers will compete across the 18-hole course for top honors

More than 250 top amateur golfers from around the country are expected for the penultimate leg of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour this weekend at the par 72 Ruiru Sports Club.
The 11-month-long series has traversed 20 counties in Kenya and four countries in the East African region including Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania and Uganda.
The series will culminate in a Grand Finale slated for December 6 at the Sigona Golf Club.
Speaking ahead of the event, Ruiru Sports Club captain James Muraguri said:
“For the first time, we are part of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour— a tournament that has made significant contributions to the growth of the sport in Kenya and beyond."
“We are looking forward to hosting between 230 to 250 players as they compete for the top spots. I can assure golfers that the course is in its absolute best shape and they can look forward to an amazing experience here in Ruiru," he said.
Action starts at 6:30 am for the morning tee while the afternoon tee off will be 12:30 pm.
The top two positions will earn golfers slots in the Tour’s Grand Finale expected to attract 180 players from around the region.
“The second edition of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour has been a huge success. Through this series, we have reached over 3000 participants and more than 1500 juniors through the clinics that run concurrently with the series. This is an indication that as a brand, we are making deliberate efforts in building the game to an elite level,” KCB Group Director Marketing and Communications, Rosalind Gichuru said.
The Bank has partnered with Beulah City Ltd, a property firm, which has committed to giving an apartment (in the Ikhaya Beulah Genesis project) valued at Sh2.1 million as the hole-in-one prize for every leg of the 2024 tour.
On Sunday, KCB will host a juniors’ golf clinic
at the same venue and a tree-planting exercise
in a bid to strengthen its environmental conservation efforts
