The third edition of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour is set to feature an expanded 30-leg series over the next 11 months.

This marks a significant leap from last year’s 24-leg edition as the series tees off on February 1 at the Nairobi Royal Golf Club.

This year’s tour will cover 16 counties across Kenya, up from 15 last year while also venturing into four neighbouring countries—Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania and Burundi.

Speaking during the tour launch at the Royal Nairobi Golf Club, Anthony Mulisa, the KCB Group Director, Treasury, emphasised their expanded scope and ambition.

“This year’s tour will traverse 16 counties in Kenya and four countries in the region, culminating in an exciting 30-leg series,” Mulisa stated.

Following the Nairobi Golf Club leg, subsequent legs will make stops in Mombasa, Trans Nzoia, Kiambu, Kakamega, Uasin Gishu, Nyeri, Kericho, Machakos, Kisumu, Kisii, Laikipia, Nandi, Nakuru and Nakuru.

Notably, Kilifi makes its debut on the tour calendar.

This year’s tour has gotten a significant shot in the arm with an injection of Sh80 million, up from last year’s Sh65 million.

“This year, we’re building on that momentum from the previous two legs with an investment of Sh80 million,” Mulisa noted.

He said the year-long series will culminate in the Grand Finale on December 5 with the venue yet to be decided.

“This is where the top teams will qualify for the tour’s Grand Finale which will be held in December. We will soon announce the venue for the finale,” he noted.

The stakes are high, with the winning team bagging Sh1 million for their club to fund sustainability projects.

Last year, Uganda’s team—Joseph Cwinyaai, Kabasweka Peace, Kakito Abdul and Babirye—dominated the leaderboard, amassing 106 stable ford points to clinch victory and secure slots in the 2025 Magical Kenya Open.

Mulisa reflected on last year’s tour, where they interacted with over 3,000 senior golfers and 1500 junior golfers.

“Last year, we had a very successful second edition which traversed 15 counties in Kenya and four countries in the region including Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania and Uganda.”

“We were able to interact with more than 3000 golfers across the region as well as having 1500 junior golfers taking part in golf clinics which ran concurrently with the series,” he noted.
