Kenyan rugby powerhouse Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) RFC is rearing to go ahead of their Kenya Cup semifinal fixture against Menengai Oilers on Saturday at the Lion's Den, Ruaraka.

KCB head coach Oliver Mang’eni expects a tough match from the Nakuru-based side and says they will give as much as they get to ensure they emerge victorious.

Mang’eni acknowledges that their opponents are a tricky side who can cause an upset, but believes they have the tactics to tame the oil men.

“Oilers are well coached and a formidable side. We just need to go back and analyse videos of their previous games, review and know where to hurt them,” said Mangeni.

Not only pride and points will be at stake in the battle as both sides will also be protecting their unbeaten run this season after match day 8.

According to KCB captain Davis Chenge, they have a big pool of very able players and once they get the best combination from training, the best players will do duty on Saturday.

He also trusts his colleagues to put in a great shift knowing too well the herculean task that lies ahead of the bankers.

“I trust that everyone is going to put in the work since we understand the pressure that comes with playing for KCB. Our target is to win and inch closer to the semifinal slot,” Chenge said.

Meanwhile, head coach Mangeni said he is not yet sure of his starting side, due to the competitive nature of his players and he will pick the best at his disposal.

“The goal difference will not count when we meet Menengai at the forest in the second leg, it will be winner takes it all. So we are looking to win all the matches and it's one match at a time,” concluded the former lock forward.

Meanwhile, oilers head coach Gibson Weru also expects a tough game against the bankers but believes they have a chance to win.

“They are second on the table, just ahead of us and they start as favourites, but we equally have a good squad that can match them. We will give our best as we eye victory at Ruaraka,” Weru said.

Other match day nine fixtures will see champions Kabrass Sugar who are also unbeaten battle Nondies as Impala welcomes Mwamba, as Strathmore Leos take on Nakuru RFC.

Kisumu RFC will battle Blak Blad as SC Pirates takes on Harlequins.
