The arena was opened earlier this month during a special thanksgiving service at the school, attended by several dignitaries. Among the honored guests was Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku, who joined the celebration alongside the Phoenix Class of 2024 KCSE, Merishaw School’s top-performing class. It was a proud moment for the school and the community.
The G-MAX Arena can seat up to 2,000 people. It is designed
for a variety of events:
•
Sports: It is ready for games like basketball,
volleyball, badminton, table tennis, indoor tennis, netball, wrestling, martial
arts, and even track events.
•
Competitions: The arena is a great place for
e-sports tournaments and other contests.
•
Entertainment: Concerts, shows, and other
performances will have a wonderful setting in this arena.
•
Meetings and More: It can also host conferences,
corporate events, and even worship services.
The arena comes with modern features including high tech
audi and video system, climate control system for the weather, floodlights for
night events and a glass roof for natural lighting.
Safety was a top priority in the arena’s design. The venue has five exits. This helps people leave quickly and safely if needed. There are also backstage doors. These allow performers and staff to move around without disturbing the event. A good system for managing the crowd makes sure that everyone can get in and out smoothly.

The G-MAX Arena is not just a building. It is meant to be a
place where the community can come together. The arena will host sports, music
events, competitions, and meetings. It is a spot for sharing talent and
celebrating achievements. Event organizers and local groups are welcome to use
the arena for their activities.
With its modern design and versatile spaces, the G-MAX Arena is set to become a favorite venue in the area. It offers a friendly space for sports fans, music lovers, and anyone who needs a good place for an event. Merishaw School hopes this new arena will bring the community closer and give everyone a chance to enjoy quality events.
Last Saturday, G-MAX Arena at Merishaw School in Isinya proved its world-class event-hosting capabilities by successfully staging the prestigious Copernicus Mathematics Olympiad, where 132 students—including participants from Limuru Girls, Nova Tatu, St. Phillips Neri, and Songoliet Sec—competed across five challenging categories. With 101 qualifiers for the global round and 78 medals (26 Gold, 32 Silver, 20 Bronze) awarded, the event showcased academic excellence, further elevated by vibrant performances from Bomas of Kenya’s cultural artists. This Olympiad demonstrated G-MAX Arena’s perfect blend of functionality and flair—from its 2,000-seat capacity and cutting-edge audiovisual systems to its climate control and strategic safety features—making it the ideal venue for academic competitions, sports tournaments, concerts, and corporate events.
