Environment, Climate Change and Forestry Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya on Monday joined Attorney General Justin Muturi at Kona Baridi in Ngong Forest, Kajiado County for a tree-growing exercise.

The site was assigned to the Office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice for full restoration in line with the revamped tree-growing programme headlined by Cabinet Secretaries.

In the 15 Billion National Tree Growing Programme, Kajiado County with a tree cover of 10.94 per cent has a target of growing 76,131,718 trees annually to reach 761,317,175 in 10 years.

This year, a total of 754,810 trees have been planted across Kajiado County.

Tuya was accompanied by State Department of Forestry staff led by Secretary for Administration Evans Mutari and Chief Conservator of Forests.

The AG was accompanied by Solicitor General Shadrack Mose and also present was area MP George Sunkuiya of the Kajiado West.
