The national government will build a medical college in Hola, Tana River county, KMCT chairman Philip Kaloki has said.
But the plan has been hit by uncertainty over the 25-acre site allocated by the county government 15km away from Hola Referral Hospital.
Kaloki said the site in dispute was allocated to the institution by the previous county administration.
Speaking to the press while touring the site on Friday in Hola, Kaloki said Kenya Medical Training College has all documents for ownership of land but construction had not started due to the standoff over the site.
KMTC will build eight classrooms and an administration block on the site, Kaloki said.
"We have received funding of Sh100 million. The contractor has already reported and we intend to begin work anytime next month," he said.
