Former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa on Tuesday harassed a Nation Media Group journalist at the Mumias Township polling station.

The female journalist was reportedly harassed after she took photos of youths sharing money. The source of the money remains unknown. 

The Mumias West MP candidate is said to have confronted the journalist, demanding to know who she was and why she was taking photos.

Echesa then pushed her back and forth, and later forced her to delete the photos, some of which she reported were of the politician at the polling station.

The former CS later got into his car and sped off.

The journalist reported the matter to the Mumias police station and notified the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
