President William Ruto on Tuesday revealed how some departments within the government attempted to sabotage him.

Speaking at KICC, Ruto said a few individuals in a supply department attempted to raise the prices of food meant for relief.

"Because we are managing a relief food programme we have to buy and issue food relief to our people. But I discovered we don't have some good people," he said

"They are busy increasing the prices of these food items. But this lady called Pamela Mutua asked me why the government is increasing the prices and that is when I discovered the evil deeds."

The President said that Mutua, who is the Chief Executive Officer at Kenya National Trading Corporation told him that the prices had been hiked to Sh7,000.

"That is why I know that there are people who serve in sincerity.  Pamela called me and I had to stop the hiking of prices from Sh7,000 to Sh4,500-Sh5,000.

The President added that as much as Mutua deserved to be rewarded, the culprits at the supply department will be dealt with.
