Jubilee faction allied to President William Ruto has announced that it will hold a separate Jubilee National Delegates Conference.

Led by EALA MP Kanini Kega, the leaders said they will hold their NDC not later than July 15.

"We call upon our members to be patient as we await the determination of the IDRC on the aforesaid dispute after which the NEC will meet to execute its mandate relating to the convening of a special NDC pursuant to its resolutions passed on 10th February 2023. We expect that a properly convened SNDC will be held no later than July 15, 2023," Kega said.

This comes after the just concluded Jubilee NDC that was convened by former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The NDC was held at Ngong Racecourse in Nairobi.

The Jubilee party has recently made headlines after wrangles were witnessed over the party leadership.

Kega and Kioni have both laid claims on the leadership of the Jubilee party.

On Monday NDC, Jubilee Party nominated new members to its National Executive Committee (NEC).

Kioni said the new members will replace rebel members who have joined the Kenya Kwanza coalition.

"We had our last NDC on February 26, 2022. During that NDC, we resolved that we would be members of the Azimio coalition and terminated all forms of cooperation with UDA," he said.

They include Jamleck Kamau (national director of elections), Maison Leshoomo (national women’s league chairperson), Agnes Thumbi (national youth league leader) and Nderitu Mureithi (business council leader).

Other nominated members are Beatrice Gabo (deputy party leader strategy), Maoka Maore (deputy party leader operations), David Manje (deputy party leader operations), Kados Muiruri (deputy party leader outreach), Saitoti Torome (chairman), Yasin Noor (deputy secretary general) and  Pauline Njoroge (deputy organising secretary)

Uhuru asked the rebel MPs including Sabina Chege and Kanini Kega to resign from their seats.

Uhuru said the two can no longer continue to enjoy the fruits of the party when they have betrayed its leadership.

''Just move and leave us be in peace. And those seats that we gave you, please return them and we give them to others," he said.

Sabina is nominated on a Jubilee ticket to the National Assembly while Kega was sponsored by the party to the East African Legislative Assembly.
