Two killed in separate road accidents in Nairobi

ACCIDENT

Two people have died in separate accidents in Pangani and Ruaraka, Nairobi County.

This comes amid talks for enhanced enforcement and stricter adherence to road safety regulations by the former acting IG Gilbert Masengeli, on 17 September.

In Starehe, an unknown driver killed a pedestrian along Juja road near the Shell petrol station

The deceased police identified as Leonard Omondi Ouda aged 42 years old was sighted by bystanders on the side of the road.

Police say he was rushed to MSF Hospital where he was confirmed dead.

Pangani police station officers visited the scene and necessary action was taken

The body was removed to the city mortuary awaiting postmortem examination.

Elsewhere, a motorcycle collided head-on with a motor vehicle, along Thika Road near exit six, in Ruaraka

According to police, the vehicle was being driven from Kasarani heading to Ruaraka's general direction on the main highway, while exiting to join the service lane, the vehicle failed to give way and hit the motorcycle.

Police say the rider sustained head injuries and died on the spot.

Officers from Ruaraka police station visited the scene and the body was moved to the City Mortuary awaiting postmortem examination.

Both the vehicle and m/cycle were detained at the station yard awaiting inspection.
