Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua has announced over 10,000 new jobs for Dubai's construction industry.
The jobs are part of the government's aggressive campaign to secure employment opportunities for Kenyans overseas.
In a post in his X account, Mutua said the construction sector in the United Arab Emirates is seeking both skilled and unskilled Kenyans to join its workforce.
According to the CS, available jobs include steel fixers, masons, scaffolders, carpenters, waterproofing technicians and general workers.
The CS, who is leading the government's push for employment opportunities for Kenyans abroad, also unveiled recruitment centres.
Beginning, Wednesday and Thursday this week, recruitment officers will be at Kabete National Polytechnic from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
The recruitment team will them pitch tent in Nyeri National Polytechnic on Friday and Saturday , between 8:00am and 5:00pm.
On Monday and Tuesday next week, the team will camp at the Kenya Coast National Polytechnic between 8:00am and 5:00 pm to recruit Kenyans.
Regarding the process of travel for the successful recruits, Mutua said those selected will receive on-the-spot offer letters.
"After a three-day medical and processing period, successful applicants will be issued visas,'' Mutua said.
Travel arrangements will be completed within days after visa issuance, he said.
Regarding fees, Mutua said that in order to make this opportunity accessible, he had negotiated reduced and affordable costs.
"Successful candidates will cater for their tickets, medical, and minor processing fees,'' he said.
Those seeking the opportunities will be expected to avail certificates and any relevant documentation and have appropriate clothing for practical assessments.
"No passport? No problem! Expedited passport issuance will be facilitated for successful candidates,'' Mutua said.
According to Mutua, salaries range from Sh33,000 to Sh60,000 that will be tax-free.
There will be free accommodation, transport, food, and medical care.
"This is a life-changing opportunity. Come and try your luck! Mbele iko sawa,'' Mutua urged Kenyans.
The government has rolled out an aggressive campaign to secure jobs for Kenyans abroad despite criticism.
Critics have blasted the government for prioritising menial jobs for Kenyans abroad instead for securing formal employment.
