Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Monday hosted the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) vice chairperson Wambui Nyutu for talks.
In a post on X, Gachagua said Nyutu visited him at his residence to seek guidance and mentorship on her "path to leadership."
The discussions during the meeting, according to Gachagua, were centered on leadership.
"I was happy to receive the gracious young lady and a daughter of the Mountain," he said.
The former DP shared that the meeting was also an opportunity to guide Nyutu on the path to leadership.
"I have taken her through the rigours of leadership and guided her on the fact that public service is a calling and selfless," he said.
Gachagua commended Nyutu for her passion, focus and deep knowledge on issues affecting the people.
"I'm especially impressed by her sense of purpose and her great desire to offer servant leadership to the great people of Murang’a," he wrote.
Nyutu has been a commissioner at NCIC since 2019.
Prior to her appointment, she served as a Director at the National Irrigation Board of Kenya since 2018.
She also worked as a Legal Assistant at Kiragu Wathuta & Co Advocates in 2017 and as a Legal Secretary at Peman Consultants from 2016 to 2019.
An Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Nyutu holds a Master of Business Administration in Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi, a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Nairobi.
In 2015, she served as the Legal Secretary of the Kenya University Students Organisation and as a special delegate of the Students Organisation of Nairobi University.
In 2018, Nyutu was awarded the Order of Grand Warrior (OGW) by His Excellency, the 4th president of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta.
